Charlotte Deeley is a Research Fellow at the Wales Centre for Public Policy (WCPP), working across the centre’s Welsh Government and Public Services programs.

Charlotte joined WCPP from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) where she worked as a Statistician and Social Researcher.

As the senior analytical lead to the Director of Census Data Collection Transformation program, Charlotte specialised in collaborative working across the organisation and its partners.

In late 2021 she established and led the ONS Health Analysis and Pandemic Insight Coordination function. Her team were responsible for bringing together analysts, academics, and policy makers to commission and synthesise evidence to support policy decisions as the government navigated the transition to a post pandemic world. She previously worked as a Senior Social Researcher working in Public Policy Analysis she developed partnerships with Cabinet Office and No.10, delivering critical analytical briefings for central government at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to this Charlotte worked in economic statistics. Focusing on strategy and engagement, she oversaw partnerships with the Economic Statistics Centre for Excellence, WJEC, and United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
