Liz Clutton has more than two decades’ experience of strategic communications and media management, working with Welsh, UK and European news and sports media, sports governing bodies and broadcasters. Working primarily within European and Welsh rugby before joining WCPP in 2023, Liz led the media management and content creation for several international rugby teams as WRU communications manager.
She led the communications of Wales Women’s transition to a professional performance programme between 2019 and 2023 which included generating widespread coverage of pioneering women’s health programmes and managing documentary broadcasts charting the journey of the female game.
Liz was also the WRU’s international matchday programme editor for more than ten years and lead the communication of numerous community rugby initiatives including the first WRU inclusion strategy which introduced groundbreaking opportunities for disability and mixed ability rugby across Wales.
Prior to joining the Welsh Rugby Union in 2004, Liz was based in Toulouse, as communications officer for Westgate Sports Agency, liaising with French and Italian clubs and media on behalf of European rugby competitions.
Liz has a BA Hons in French and Italian from Cardiff University.
