Naomi Alleyne

Job title Deputy Chief Executive, Welsh Local Government Association

Naomi Alleyne is currently the Director of Social Services and Housing and Deputy Chief Executive at the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA), having previously held the position of Director of Equalities and Social Justice and other posts at the Association since 2002. Her areas of responsibility include issues relating to social services, housing, community safety, including fire and rescue services and the armed forces, and asylum and immigration. She also oversees a range of teams providing support to councils and partners in areas such as autism, creating safer communities and migration.

Before joining the Association, Naomi was a secondee to the Welsh Government working on race equality and asylum and immigration issues. She has also worked within two Race Equality Councils, holding the position of Director in the South East Wales REC. With a passionate belief in the importance of equity and fairness in all aspects of life, Naomi has been fortunate in working with a range of organisations and individuals in promoting equality and the importance of local democracy with the aim of improving people’s experiences and outcomes across key social policy areas.
